Vanessa Janss was born and raised on a sheep and cattle ranch in rural Southern Idaho. She took up surfing while at boarding school in Carpinteria, CA and never went back. She now spends part of the year in San Diego, part in Mallacoota, Australia, and the rest roaming the beaches of the globe in search of empty waves.
